Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport
สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ
Suvarnabhumi Airport is the main international airport of Thailand, serving both domestic and international flights and acting as one of the primary gateways to Southeast Asia for travelers in the region. The airport is located east of Bangkok, less than 15 minutes from Dextra’s main manufacturing facility.
Dextra has been involved since the beginning of the Suvarnabhumi construction in 2001 and continues to play a role in the airport’s latest expansion projects.
Over the years, Dextra has provided a wide range of technical solutions to support various contractors on different parts of the project.
For foundation piles, diaphragm walls, columns, beams, and other concrete structures, 巴特克 rebar couplers have been extensively used throughout the airport. This popular coupler solution ensures safe rebar connections, both vertical and horizontal. In Thailand, Dextra also handles rebar preparation services, which are carried out at our own threading yard in Bangkok.
The terminal roofs and concourses were designed to use Dextra Tension Rod Systems as cross-trusses. These high-performance large bar systems are easy to install and adjust in length, thanks to their fork ends and in-line connectors, while also contributing to the overall aesthetics of the terminal structure.
For the plane remote parking area, where aircraft fine-tune communications with the control tower, Dextra supplied large-diameter FRP dowel bars to connect the tarmac concrete slabs. Dextra’s FRP bars offer similar tensile performance to steel bars but help reduce the interference typically associated with metallic structures.
