Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport

Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport

Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the primary airport serving international airports to Mumbai. It is the second airport in India in term of passenger traffic.

Dextra 参与了 2009 年至 2013 年间进行的 2 号航站楼及相关建筑的建设。

For Mumbai Airport, Dextra delivered its popular 巴特克 rebar coupler solution, which is the primary rebar coupler used on large projects in India.

Dextra operates its own threading yard in Mumbai and took responsibility for the rebar preparation for this project.

在施工现场, 巴特克 was used extensively for vertical connections (bar-to-bar vertical column connections) as well as horizontal applications (column-to-beam), typically for reinforcement of ⌀32mm. 巴特克 offers an exceptional level of performance, ensuring “bar break” performance on the rebar used at Mumbai Airport.

For the contractor (Larsen & Toubro on this project), 巴特克 提供了一种简单且经济高效的钢筋连接方法。

Thanks to its parallel thread technology and rebar prepared with various thread lengths, it requires the same coupler for both standard applications (when one bar can be rotated inside the coupler) and positional applications (when no bar can be rotated). This is a convenient feature that simplifies stock management and prevents product mismatches on site.

Jamnagar Refinery Expansion: The World’s Largest Refinery by Production Capacity

Located in Gujarat, western India, the Jamnagar Refinery is the largest refinery in the world by production capacity. Owned by Reliance Industries, it was commissioned in 1998 and spans a vast 50 km² area.

For Phase 3 alone, more than 305,000 tons of steel 钢筋/增强筋 were used in a 36-month project, involving over 100,000 engineers and construction workers.
Dextra has been involved in Jamnagar since the early phases, supplying rebar 拼接解决方案 for Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the project.

Dextra’s Rebar Splicing Solutions for Phase 3:

Three rebar coupler solutions were used in Phase 3:

  • Bartec Solution
Used for cast-in-situ applications, including bar-to-bar connections in foundations, pile cages, and column cages.
Also utilized in heavily congested rafts and pile caps to facilitate efficient 钢筋连接.
  • Groutec Couplers
Applied to pipe racks, which were constructed from 预制 elements in a dedicated 预制 factory within the project.
Positioned in the bottom elements and filled with grout, eliminating the need for in-situ wet 接头 and ensuring fast, secure connections between beams and columns.
  • Unitec Couplers
Used in applications where rebar length was too short to allow traditional overlap connections.

The Olympic Velodrome, now renamed Lee Valley VeloPark, is a multipurpose sports facility located in East London. The facility was initially built to host the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics. It still features road courses and BMX tracks and hosts international cycling competitions.

For this project, Dextra delivered the 格瑞普泰克 rebar splicing solution to contractors Sir Robert McAlpine and Byrne Construction.

这 格瑞普泰克 splices were mostly used to provide vertical rebar connections in the velodrome columns.

Our 格瑞普泰克 solution was supported by Dextra’s local distributor in London, which houses the Dextra 格瑞普泰克 equipment required for the extrusion of the 格瑞普泰克 sleeves onto the rebar.

格瑞普泰克 is a CARES TA1-A, TA1-B, and TA1-C approved solution, making it suitable for even the most advanced rebar splicing applications and stringent project requirements.

吉赞防洪渠

吉赞防洪渠

吉赞防洪渠 is an ongoing infrastructure project in Jizan Economic City, Saudi Arabia.

Located along the coastline, the city is at risk of flooding due to frequent torrential rainfall. The flood channel plays a crucial role in protecting downstream areas from major flood damage.

As the channel will be exposed to seawater and environmental contaminants that can accelerate steel corrosion, Dextra ASTEC glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar was chosen as the ideal solution for the project. Nearly 2 million meters of GFRP rebar were supplied.

ASTEC GFRP rebar is a corrosion-free, non-metallic reinforcing bar that offers higher tensile strength than steel while being significantly lighter in weight.

Upon completion, this project will be the world’s largest construction using GFRP rebars as concrete reinforcement.

墨尔本地铁

墨尔本地铁:五个新地铁站

Melbourne’s metropolitan rail service operates 226 six-carriage trains across 998 km of tracks. The metro has 15 lines and 222 stations, serving more than 400,000 passengers a day across the city.

In 2017, the construction of a 9 km-long tunnel and five new underground stations was announced to increase capacity and expand coverage in the city’s suburban area.

Construction began in 2018. Dextra was involved in the project by supplying rebar connectors with fully automated rebar preparation equipment for the station’s structural 钢筋/增强筋 works.

Griptec couplers were chosen for their unrivaled performance in tension, compression, and fatigue, with 400,000 units delivered.

In addition, Dextra supplied:

  • 5,300 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 Astec Combination Bolts — These were used at the CBD cavern location. The 19m width of the cavern allowed for the construction of two conventional 7m tunnels, built in parallel with the middle segments secured by 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 CB Bolts, which can be cut to widen the gallery.
  • 2,400 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 Geotec GR45 – 25mm dowels — Each measuring 11.8 meters, these dowels were used to secure the excavation face.
  • 900 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 Astec Soil Nails ST50 – 41 — These were applied to secure several stations under construction. Some of them extend beyond the project boundary since 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 can remain in the ground and be easily cut later.
  • 16 Soft-Eyes — Installed in the D-Wall and bored pile of five stations.

Dextra provided support and shared its expertise on 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 during the design stage, producing custom-shaped 玻璃纤维增强聚合物 solutions to meet the owner’s expectations. Due to the cuttability of 玻璃纤维增强聚合物, the TBM can pass through the D-Wall in minimal time without causing damage.

The metro tunnel and its new stations are due to open in 2025 and are predicted to become a new landmark for the city.
