Ciel Tower is an 82-storey high-rise building under development in Dubai Marina. With a total height of 365 meters, it is set to become the world’s tallest hotel-only building upon its completion, scheduled for 2025.

Located in the heart of Dubai Marina, the tower is near popular attractions such as Marina Walk and Marina Mall, a major shopping and entertainment complex. It will feature 1,042 luxury suites, along with a rooftop hosting a pool bar, a restaurant, and an observation deck.

The architectural design is heavily inspired by the concept of vertical living, maximizing panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah, Bluewaters Island, Dubai Harbour, and the Arabian Gulf.

Dextra has supplied 180,000 巴特克 couplers for critical structural connections, including rafts, columns to beams, slabs to core walls, core walls, and starter bars, enhancing the building’s strength and stability.

Ciel Tower is set to become an iconic landmark, further solidifying Dubai’s reputation as one of the world’s premier tourist destinations.

Orbit is a 25-storey office building strategically located in the heart of Hyderabad’s IT Hub, constructed using precast technology. It is one of the tallest commercial buildings in India built with this method.

Constructed by Aurobindo Realty, the Orbit building was honored with the “Best Office Architecture India” award by the International Property Awards – Asia Pacific Property Awards 2018.

Designed with precast technology, the building is also proposed for LEED v4 Gold Certification from USGBC, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

Dextra’s 格鲁泰克 couplers played a key role in precast element connections. Approximately 60,000 couplers were installed in precast elements at the precast factory before being transported to the construction site for grout connections.

With the growing demand for modular buildings worldwide—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where healthcare and quarantine facilities were urgently needed—格鲁泰克 couplers have become a widely adopted solution. They are designed and manufactured in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS 8110, ACI 318, IBC, and AASHTO standards.

Two IFC is a landmark skyscraper in Hong Kong, located in West Kowloon. The 412-meter-high commercial building features 88 floors and is the second tallest building in Hong Kong, following the ICC Tower.

Vertical reinforcement is a crucial structural feature for buildings of this height. Consultant ARUP and contractors E-Man-Sanfield JV selected Dextra for the splicing of reinforcement throughout the building.

For this project, Dextra supplied more than 200,000 巴特克 rebar couplers, which were primarily used for vertical connections, especially in all columns.

Additionally, rebar couplers provided connection points for second-phase rebar reconnection, typically between columns and slabs and columns and beams. To achieve this, rebar couplers were aligned horizontally and cast in concrete, allowing for reconnection at a later stage by screwing in the second-phase rebar.

巴特克 is the preferred reinforcement splicing solution for contractors in Hong Kong, as it is recommended in the Hong Kong Building Material List. Dextra also operates its own rebar threading workshop in Hong Kong, providing rebar preparation services for its customers.

Jumeirah Beach Residence is a large waterfront residential complex located along the Persian Gulf in Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates.

The residential area comprises more than 40 towers, many of which reach 40 stories. In total, Jumeirah Beach Residence can accommodate over 15,000 residents.

Dextra Middle East, also based in Dubai, was involved in numerous tower packages between 2003 and 2005.

Foundation Piles

To provide vertical connections in foundation piles, Dextra supplied its popular 巴特克 rebar coupler solution—the most trusted rebar 连接方案 in the Middle East—through its fabrication partners.

As a complement to the couplers, more than 70,000 meters of 索尼泰克 tubes were supplied to the 桩 contractor, offering a practical and safe method for assembling sonic tubes and significantly boosting productivity.

巴特克 couplers were also used for horizontal connections in the thick foundation rafts and vertical connections in the protruding columns.

Core Wall-to-Beam 应用领域

In the superstructure, 巴特克 couplers were used for horizontal connections between the core walls and beams.

For this application, couplers were cast into the 心墙, flush with the formwork. A thread protection cap, supplied by Dextra, prevented concrete leakage into the 巴特克 耦合器。

At a later stage, continuation rebars, pre-threaded with 巴特克 threads, were connected into the pre-installed couplers, creating starter bars.

Mataf is the area surrounding the Kaaba, the center of the holiest mosque in Islam, located within the Grand Mosque of Mecca. It is where the Tawaf, the counterclockwise circumambulation around the Kaaba, takes place.

The Mataf expansion is a large-scale project aimed at adding 1,300,000 sqm to the existing 400,000 sqm of space. The renovation will feature a new basement and three additional floors, increasing capacity for hundreds of thousands of additional worshippers.

For this significant project, Dextra Middle East has been involved in supplying rebar couplers and anchor solutions.

Mega Columns

For the mega columns, Dextra provided contractors with a solution to connect cages vertically while accommodating potential misalignment. This was achieved using 巴特克 caging assemblies, which allow for a misalignment adjustment equivalent to one bar diameter.

In addition to enabling reconnection, the 巴特克 caging assemblies were also used to temporarily lock the large column template (visible in red in photos) to ensure the correct setup of column reinforcement.

Mega Column Footing

右旋糖苷 巴特克 钢筋锚固板, which use the same type of threads as the couplers, were also installed at the footing of the mega columns to address reinforcement congestion.

The anchors, compact and easy to install, can be set on bars during the final stage of reinforcement installation. In this project, the anchors were installed from the top of the raft onto the vertical bars. More than 100,000 钢筋锚固板 were used in this type of application, appearing as X-shaped reinforcement at the column footing.

Column-to-Beam Connections

For more standard applications, 巴特克 couplers were also used to create horizontal connections between the columns and beams.

The Broadway London project consists of six buildings, ranging between 13 and 19 stories tall. This mixed-use development is located between Westminster and Victoria, directly adjacent to St. James’s Park Station, on a 1.7-acre triangular site.

The development includes 268 luxury apartments. Its ground floor will house 25,000 sq. ft. of high-end retail units, while the 1st to 3rd floors will provide 116,000 sq. ft. of prime commercial space. It also features a colonnade between the east and west buildings, with landscaped residents’ gardens on the roof terraces.

Dextra supplied over 20,000 units of 格鲁特克S couplers, installed in 1,200 square and circular precast columns.

格鲁泰克 is a mechanical splicing system designed for the connection of precast elements in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS 8110, ACI 318, IBC, and AASHTO.

The Wasl Tower is a 302m super-high-rise structure in downtown Dubai, surrounded by the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the new City Walk Development.

The tower will feature the world’s tallest ceramic façade, which will help regulate the internal temperature of the building while also reducing surrounding noise.

Moreover, vertical gardens and several shading and cooling design innovations will further minimize the building’s overall carbon footprint.

The project will comprise offices, residential areas, serviced apartments, and a 5-star Mandarin Oriental hotel, along with bars, restaurants, a spa, and a swimming pool.
