New Pamban Bridge, India
Dextra is proud to support the construction of the New Pamban Bridge in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, India, by supplying critical structural components for the steel tower and lifting mechanism.
For this landmark project, Dextra provided:
- 244 sets of fully-threaded (FT) bars (930/1080 grade, 32mm diameter, in lengths of 2,700mm and 3,400mm) along with swivel plates, nuts, end caps, and tube assembly for securing the steel tower/pylon.
- 24 sets of tension rods (carbon steel M48, grade 700, in lengths of 3,450mm and 3,850mm) for the counterweight position, which are connected to steel wire ropes to lift the bridge vertically.
The New Pamban Bridge is India’s first vertical lift railway sea bridge, enhancing connectivity to Rameswaram Island. Dextra’s high-performance tensioning and post-tensioning solutions ensure durability, stability, and precise load handling, contributing to the bridge’s reliable and efficient operation.
