The Port of Sète, located on the Mediterranean Sea, is the largest fishing port in southern France and also serves numerous ferry routes to North Africa, including Tangiers. As part of its efforts to increase container capacity, the port is adding a new quay (Quay H), 15 meters deep, to improve both handling and storage of containers.

To support contractor Soletanche-Bachy in the construction of this new quay, Dextra engineered and supplied 74 large Marine Tie Bar assemblies, the largest in our range at M160. These large-diameter assemblies reduce the number of sets required by increasing spacing between each rod.

The tie rods were anchored into the D-Wall using ball cages, which allow a 10° rotational angle in all directions. After excavation, the ball cages were opened to enable reconnection of the threaded ends of the rods.
