Dextra part of Chinese nuclear history
Griptec on the first 100% Chinese design reactor
In July, the first Griptec connections were produced on the site of the 5th reactor of Fuqing nuclear power plant, located in the Chinese province of Fujian.
Dextra is thrilled to be part of the construction of the first reactor to be built after a 100% Chinese design. 400,000 Griptec connections will be used in the next 5 years, mainly in the aircraft protective shell.
Griptec is the preferred rebar splicing solution of the nuclear industry thanks to its unique performance and an automatic proofing process which tests 100% of the connections.
Griptec has been supplied to nuclear projects like Taishan EPR 2&3 in China and Flamanville EPR 3 in France.

XXL ball cages for tie rods project in Sète, Southern France
74 ball cages of 870 kg were installed at Sète Quay H
Soletanche Bachy commissioned Dextra with the delivery of tie rods for Quay H container terminal in Sète, France.
Ball cages for M160 tie rods have been installed into the diaphragm walls (one ball cage per panel).
Dextra will supply a total of 74 assemblies, all fitted with articulated couplers (hinge couplers).
Advanced rock bolt solutions now available!
Dextra expands its geotechnical range with two new systems
Dextra Friction Bolts allow a fast and clean rock bolting for all tunneling and mining applications. No grouting is necessary as the steel tube is expanded with high water pressure.
Dextra Hollow Self Drilling Bolts are based on a 3-in-1 concept with the hollow steel bar acting as drill rod, reinforcement bar and grouting pipe. They are available in steel or FRP and are suitable for the most difficult ground conditions.
Deliveries on track for London Crossrail
Griptec installation is continuing in several packages and stations
Crossrail is the largest engineering project in Europe. It is a major part of Transport for London’s investment programme and the largest addition to the transport system for 50 years.
The 118-km east-west rail link across Greater London will run from Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
Dextra has been delivering more than 600,000 Griptec connections on more than 20 packages since 2013, including stations such as Liverpool street, Paddington, Bond Street and Canary Wharf.
Segments are expected to start operating progressively, with full completion scheduled for December 2019.
Facebook Likes Dextra for its headquarter expansion
Dextra supplied the rebar couplers used in the new building designed by Frank Gehry
Tech companies are well known for their radical approach to the organization of work space. Facebook’s expansion of Menlo Park headquarter is no exception.
Designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry, the new building features the largest open-plan office in the world, innovative collaborative spaces and a gigantic 37,000 sqm rooftop garden.
For this project, Dextra supplied Bartec couplers as well as Headed Bars through Conco Reinforcing, a local fabricator.
