The Key Rama 3

The Key Rama 3

The Key Rama 3 is a 484-unit high-rise condominium by Land & Houses with sizes ranging from 29 to 61 square meters. The project is located near the Chaopraya river on Rama 3 road, approximately 12 km. from Charoen Krung intersection to Na Ranong junction at Klongtoey in Bangkok, Thailand.

The condominium is a fully precast concrete building with no cast-in-place concrete on its main structural elements.

This type of construction required less workers, materials like rebars, and concrete on the site, which resulted in a shorter construction period and fewer complaints from the neighboring community regarding noise and waste.

Grouted mechanical sleeves were used to join the precast elements, and Dextra Groutec couplers, installed inside shear wall and bearing wall, were an important part of the process.

“The half-grouted mechanism of Groutec L and S sleeves, which have a threaded end on one side, ensured accuracy and reduced mistakes during the grouting process” said Mr. Janeboon Leepipatnavit, Project Director of Taveeporn Technology Co., Ltd., the contractor of this project.

Mr. Janeboon further stated that Dextra was a reliable company with its own facilities in Thailand that could provide immediate support if required.

The iconic crossed-sword design tower in Qatar

The iconic crossed-sword design tower in Qatar

With a unique architectural design inspired by the crossed scimitar swords of the country’s seal, the Katara Towers are set to become the future hospitality landmark of Doha, Qatar.

These 36-story twin arched towers will consist of a luxurious five-star hotel, the first six-star hotel in the country, and private residences.

A man-made satellite beach-front island will complement the project, housing luxury entertainment and recreational facilities.

For this iconic project, Dextra was entrusted with the reinforcement of the concrete structures using 300,000 Bartec rebar couplers.

The couplers were applied inside foundations, columns and core walls to swiftly connect reinforcement bars of various diameters.

Bartec is a parallel-thread rebar coupler that connects two bars in a 3-step process, including the cold-forged enlargement of the bar before the threading.

This patented process guarantees a very high tensile strength, and a bar-break performance.

The tower’s completion is expected in 2021, becoming a focal point for travelers during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

MSG Sphere

MSG Sphere

MSG Sphere is an under-construction music and entertainment venue being built in Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas Strip. The sphere-shaped venue will have a capacity of 18,000 and will feature LED screens inside and outside of the venue.

The equipped indoor spherical digital display panel will spread across the interior of the venue while an outdoor screen display will show what is going on inside. The venue will be built along with new bars, private suites, a museum and retail space.

The 360-feet tall and 516-feet wide sphere is being built on 18 acres off Sands Avenue between Manhattan Street and Koval Lane. Dextra rebar couplers and headed bars have been used to connect and reinforce columns, core walls and beams of the building’s structure.

Dextra’s Bartec rebar couplers are designed to splice either the same or different diameter bars, whether one bar can be rotated, or not. Bartec spliced bars provide full strength in tension, compression and stress reversal applications. The mechanical splicing solution is accredited by major independent regulatory bodies; for example, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, UK CARES and Bureau Veritas.

Headed bars are also used to replace hooked bars as end anchorages in congested areas to reduce lapping length for beam-column connections. Standard Bartec mechanical anchorages are circular in shape and are attached by threading onto the rebar.

The construction of MSG Sphere is projected to be completed in 2021.

One Bangkok – an integrated mixed-use district

One Bangkok – an integrated mixed-use district

One Bangkok is a new urban development in central Bangkok. This mixed-use project will include offices, retail space, luxury hotels, residences, and cultural and social spaces, with a gross floor area of 1.83 million sq. m. The highlight of the site will be a 430-metre, 90-storey signature tower.

In February 2020, One Bangkok, Co., Ltd, together with CPAC Co., Ltd., and partners: K.C.S. & Associates Co., Ltd., Stonehenge Inter Plc and Italian-Thai Development Corporation Limited completed the largest continuous concrete pouring in Southeast Asia for the mat foundation of one of the first office towers.

The entire process took 33 hours and 15 minutes, with the successful coordination of 547 trucks providing a total 23,725 cubic meters of concrete.

Dextra was behind the connection of 2,200 tons of steel reinforcing mat foundation by supplying 500,000 units of Bartec standard couplers, transition couplers and headed bars.

Bartec standard and transition couplers were applied for various applications which require the joining of reinforcing bars, for example, column to column and beam to column connections.

The transition couplers allowed for the connection of two rebars of different size.

Headed bars were used as an anchor bolt to connect columns to a reinforced concrete foundation. This solution drastically alleviates the congestion of rebars:

Upon completion in 2023, One Bangkok will be a new global landmark destination in the heart of the city.

The Amaryllis – Luxury Apartments

The Amaryllis – Luxury Apartments

The Amaryllis is a luxurious residential project with modern amenities located in the premium area of New Delhi, close to the city’s major attractions such as Connaught Place, India Gate, Airport, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and others, making it irresistible to home buyers.

The commitment to completing the project on time was at the heart of this iconic project. As a result, the client was looking to partner with a very dependable coupler agency that has experience executing high-speed projects while delivering a quality product on time.

Thus, Dextra, an ISO 9001: 2015 certified BureauVeritas, is one of the market leaders in the coupler business, having been involved in over 15,000 major construction or industrial projects worldwide and providing unique global experience and expertise.

Almost 1 million pieces of Bartec couplers were delivered to the construction site for the connection of Fe500D, Fe550D and Fe600 grade rebars.

Since the project had stringent schedule and delivery requirements, it was critical to ensure that not only the couplers from Dextra were procured and delivered on site within the specified delivery timeline, but also that the threading equipment installed could cater to an average of 4,000-6,000 ready threads per day.

Furthermore, the main criteria for threading were to use the least amount of equipment possible due to space constraints and to meet the target deliverables. With 3 different size towers connected by a long skywalk, there was an equal amount of pressure on the requirement of threaded rebars to suffice each tower at the same time.

Dextra also supplied Sonitec, an easy-to-assemble and time-saving tube solution, for the CSL (crosshole sonic logging) testing of foundation piles.

The Dextra team in India sent an expert team of supervisors and operators to the site to ensure that the rebar threading and coupler supply were working in tandem. With a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, all resources were arranged in accordance with the client’s specifications to ensure that there are no delays.

Our goal has always been to provide a quality product to the client, so all quality testing requirements, formalities, and certifications have always been met. Our well-equipped maintenance team was also putting in place the necessary safeguards and provisions to avoid machine breakdowns.
