Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT)
Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) is a multipurpose berth to handle clean cargo at Paradip Port, located on the eastern coast of India, between Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.
The depth of the berth is 17.1 meters with a length of 450 meters, which will facilitate handling of Cape-sized vessels up to 125,000 DWT.
The multi-purpose berth will be utilized for handling containerized traffic, including non-hazardous and dust-free cargoes such as iron and steel products, finished fertilizer, food grains and sugar.
Dextra supplied approximately 370 tons of Marine Tie Bar systems, sizes M105 and M76, grade 500, along with accessories: couplers, turnbuckles, swivel plates, swivel nuts, swivel plates with angle seating.
The tie bar systems were used to connect with concrete diaphragm walls at both ends, in order to retain the berth structure.
With the new berth becoming operational in 2018, the port is having a total of 18 berths: 13 cargo berths, 2 oil tanker berths and 3 crude oil tankers and single-point mooring for handling of crude oil tankers.
