Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Isolation Lab, Singapore
The new ultra-low vibration lab at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is currently under construction.
Since the testing equipment cannot be positioned within a 1.5m radius of any magnetic elements, Dextra GFRP rebars were installed in the base slabs and floating slabs as a replacement for steel rebars. A total of 3,000 linear meters of GFRP rebars were delivered.
GFRP rebars allow contractors to replace steel reinforcement with a composite, non-corrosive, and non-metallic alternative. They offer exceptionally high tensile performance while being lightweight—up to eight times the performance-to-weight ratio of steel.
