Landmark 81, Vietnam
Landmark 81 is a high-rise tower project located on the banks of the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City. The project is owned by the Vietnamese company Vingroup.
Construction of the tower began at the end of 2014, and it reaches a height of 470 meters to tip, setting a new height record in Vietnam. Landmark 81 is the 17th tallest tower in the world.
For this project, Dextra is supplying its renowned Bartec solution to the contractor Coteccons. The Bartec solution has been approved by ARUP, the owner’s representative consultant, and MACE International, the structural consultant.
In total, 250,000 Bartec couplers will be used for vertical rebar connections in the core wall and columns, as well as for horizontal applications such as core wall-to-beam and core wall-to-slab connections.
The use of rebar couplers allows the climbing formwork to progress unencumbered, while also enabling efficient connection of slab starter bars. These technologies, combined with state-of-the-art concrete monitoring, facilitate extremely fast construction cycles—as short as 35 hours per floor.
For composite applications (steel columns to beams), Dextra has also supplied 20,000 weldable couplers.

The fast-paced construction site is supported by three sets of Dextra Bartec bar-end preparation equipment, installed directly on site. The equipment is maintained by Dextra and operated by Dextra’s distributor in Vietnam, Lotus Greentech.
