Bahr El Baqar wastewater treatment plant is located in the northern governorate of Port Said and has a daily output capacity of 5.6 million cubic meters. It is a joint venture between the Arab Contractors Company そして Orascom Construction.

The plant is the world’s largest of its kind, holding three Guinness World Records:

  • largest water treatment facility, processing 64.8 cubic meters per second
  • largest sludge treatment plant
  • largest single-operator ozone generating plant

Dextra is proud to contribute to this project by supplying Rolltec rebar couplers for the reinforcement of the plant’s concrete structures.

Rolltec is a CARES-approved, rolled parallel-threaded mechanical splicing system designed for connecting concrete reinforcing bars from Ø12 to 50 mm (ASTM #4 to #18). It offers fast and easy preparation and installation on-site.

ザヤブリダム

ザヤブリダム

ザヤブリダム is a hydroelectric dam located in northern Laos. Planned to begin operations in 2019/2020, it is the first of 11 dams planned in the lower Mekong region. The dam is expected to generate 1,285 MW of electrical capacity.

For this remote construction site, a Bartec rebar preparation equipment set was delivered in its container. A total of 120,000 rebar couplers were used on the project over a two-year period.

地山洪水軽減水路

地山洪水軽減水路

地山洪水軽減水路 is an ongoing infrastructure project in Jizan Economic City, Saudi Arabia.

Located along the coastline, the city is at risk of flooding due to frequent torrential rainfall. The flood channel plays a crucial role in protecting downstream areas from major flood damage.

As the channel will be exposed to seawater and environmental contaminants that can accelerate steel corrosion, Dextra ASTEC glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar was chosen as the ideal solution for the project. Nearly 2 million meters of GFRP rebar were supplied.

ASTEC GFRP rebar is a corrosion-free, non-metallic reinforcing bar that offers higher tensile strength than steel while being significantly lighter in weight.

Upon completion, this project will be the world’s largest construction using GFRP rebars as concrete reinforcement.

The Hatta Pumped Storage Hydro Power Plant project is located near the community of Hatta in the Hajar Mountains, 140 km southeast of Dubai.

The plant will use water stored in an upper reservoir at the Hatta Dam, utilizing pumped storage technology with solar-powered pumps from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The project was awarded to a consortium that includes STRABAG Dubai LLC, STRABAG AG, Austria’s Andritz Hydro, and Ozkar, an Oman-based construction company. France’s EDF is acting as a consultant for the project.

It will comprise a turbine shaft with a diameter of approximately 36 meters and a depth of nearly 70 meters, designed to accommodate two turbines with a total expected power output of 250 MW. Additionally, a 1.2 km-long pressure tunnel and two road tunnels, approximately 470 meters and 440 meters in length, will be excavated.

デクストラは、以下を含む数千本の GEOTEC™ 鋼ボルトを供給することで水力トンネルの掘削に携わりました。 Self-Drilling Rock Bolts, 土の釘, and combination bolts, ranging in diameter from 22 to 32 mm, for rock mass and slope stabilization.

Dextra’s GEOTEC™ steel bolt systems are available for various ground conditions in applications such as roadways, hydropower, underground oil and gas storage, subsea, and sewer tunnels.

このプロジェクトは 2024 年初めに開始される予定です。

It is part of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to provide 75% of Dubai’s total power generation from clean energy sources by 2050.

The Santo Antônio Dam is a hydroelectric dam built on the Madeira River in the state of Rondônia, Brazil. It is powered by 50 turbines, with a total capacity of 3,580 MW.

For this major dam project, Dextra supplied its Rolltec rebar coupler solution to contractors Odebrecht & Andrade Gutierrez.

Rolltec is the most popular rebar splicing solution in Brazil, providing a competitive alternative to lap splices. The rebar preparation is supported by a unique, lightweight machine operated by a single worker. The Rolltec machine is relatively easy to transport and convenient to install, even in remote locations such as dam construction sites.

At the Santo Antônio Dam, rebar couplers were used to reconnect bent rebar. To achieve this, a straight bar is first threaded (A/B/C thread length) and then bent according to project requirements.

If needed, a coupler can be temporarily set up on the rebar to protect the thread.

バケン浄水場

バケン浄水場

バケン浄水場 is located in the Bakheng district of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is being constructed to improve the area’s water supply and is expected to increase drinking water delivery capacity by 60% to accommodate substantial urban expansion.

The project includes a drinking water treatment plant そして transfer pipelines, which will eventually provide clean water to over 1.5 million residents in northeastern Phnom Penh.

By the end of Phase 1, the plant is expected to be operational, supplying drinking water to more than 750,000 inhabitants. Upon completion of Phase 2, its capacity will be doubled.

The project scope includes earthworks and soil treatment, civil engineering design, equipment installation, power supply, and system automation.

デクストラ supplied Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rebars, which were installed in bored piles instead of traditional steel rebars. This facilitated the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) breakthrough in the underground waterway tunnel.

The Reventazón Dam is a concrete-face rock-fill dam built on the Reventazón River in the Limón province of Costa Rica. Inaugurated at the end of 2016, it is the largest power station in the country, with a total capacity of 305 MW. The project has become a model of environmental integration, featuring passages for wildlife.

For this major dam project, Dextra Latin America continuously supplied and supported contractor ICE from 2010 to 2016. Dextra provided its Rolltec rebar splicing solution, couplers, and machinery. Rolltec is the most popular rebar splicing solution in Latin America, offering a competitive alternative to lap splices.

The rebar preparation is supported by a unique, lightweight machine operated by a single worker. The Rolltec machine is relatively easy to transport and convenient to install, even in remote locations such as dam construction sites.

Rolltec splices were used inside the water tunnels, installed on bent rebar. For this type of application, the straight bar must first be threaded and then bent. During the bending operation, a coupler may be temporarily fitted onto the bar end to protect the thread.

Dextra Rolltec couplers were also installed in the tall structure (130 meters high) as a method for splicing rebar vertically.
