Dextra Groutec L and S are now CITF-approved construction material!
The Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF) in Hong Kong encourages the use of new building techniques and technology to increase productivity, improve quality, make construction sites safer, and improve environmental performance in the construction sector for which precast concrete technology is one of the prevalent adopted techniques.
Dextra has been present in Hong Kong since 1987 delivering its vast product range to most commercial and infrastructure mega projects. One of Dextra’s dedicated products to the precast construction is Groutec.
Groutec is a half-grouted sleeve specially designed for the connection of precast concrete elements. Groutec splice comply with Eurocode 2, ISO15835, ACI 318 type 2, ISO16172 and AASHTO code requirements. In 2020, Groutec was awarded the BD IPA after completing all of the required testing at accredited laboratories.
The precast components may be linked together horizontally or vertically using Groutec. Groutec easily connects two precast elements with no requirement for in-situ wet concrete joint, compact and economical splicing solution with one threaded end compatible and can be used with non-shrink grout easily available from the market.
No later than May 2022, CITF included Groutec in the list of approved construction materials to be used in the new building techniques and technologies. To encourage the usage this new technology, CITF will allow contractors to apply for a one-time reimbursement up to 70% of their Groutec purchase value with a cap of HKD 1,500,000.
Dextra is distributing Groutec in more than 50 countries for the past 10 years including Hong Kong for the Kwu Tung North New Development Area, Phase 1, Pedestrian Connectivity Facilities Works Phase 2A and Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works, Phase 1.projects.
