Fujairah Port: A Key Maritime Hub in the UAE
The Port of Fujairah, located in the emirate of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, is the only multi-purpose deep-sea port on the eastern seaboard of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Strategically positioned 130 km south of the Strait of Hormuz, it serves as a crucial gateway for international trade and energy exports.
Dextra was involved in the expansion of the port between 2007 and 2008.
Oil Terminal 2 (OT2)
For the new Oil Terminal 2 (OT2), Dextra engineered and supplied the Marine Tie Bar systems used for the anchoring of the Main Quay walls.
More than 1,400 tons of tie bars were provided for this large-scale project.
South Breakwater Berths
In 2008, Dextra also engineered and supplied Marine Tie Bar systems for the anchoring of the Tugs Jetty, Craft Docks, and Main Quay Wall. Short Marine Tie Bar assemblies were installed between King Pile Walls.
To facilitate transportation and installation, high-performance Grade 700 steel was selected, allowing for a higher level of performance with relatively smaller diameters.
