Plum Condo Bangyai Station, Thailand
Plum Condo Bangyai Station is a 38-story condominium project consisting of two towers, located near Bangyai elevated metro station in the northwest of Bangkok. The residential building will house 1,013 apartments.
Phase 1 of the project (the first tower) began in September 2015 and is expected to be completed around March 2018. The fast-paced construction is made possible by the use of fully precast concrete techniques.
The project owner, Pruksa, is operating its own precast plant specifically for this development.
For this project, Pruksa aimed to quickly erect precast panels (serving as shear walls) for all levels above ground. To meet this requirement, Dextra recommended the use of Groutec coupleurs.
Groutec couplers were mounted on Ø25mm rebars, which had been pre-threaded using the Bartec system. The couplers, installed at the bottom of each precast element, were then cast as part of the precast wall panel.
After lifting the element to the upper floor on-site, reconnection to the protruding reinforcement was achieved by injecting non-shrink mortar. It is important to note that Dextra does not supply the mortar; instead, it can be sourced locally, generating significant cost savings. Once the grout is injected, bracing around each panel can be removed after three days.
