The Key Rama 3, Thailand

The Key Rama 3, Thailand

The Key Rama 3 is a 484-unit high-rise condominium by Land & Houses, offering unit sizes ranging from 29 to 61 square meters. The project is located near the Chao Phraya River on Rama 3 Road, approximately 12 km from Charoen Krung Intersection to Na Ranong Junction in Klong Toei, Bangkok, Thailand.

The condominium is constructed entirely from precast concrete, with no cast-in-place concrete used for its main structural elements.

This construction method required fewer workers and reduced the use of materials such as rebars and concrete on-site, leading to a shorter construction period and fewer complaints from the neighboring community regarding noise and waste.

Grouted mechanical sleeves were used to connect the precast elements, with Dextra Groutec couplers playing a key role in the process. These couplers were installed inside the shear walls and bearing walls.

“The half-grouted mechanism of Groutec L et Groutec S_ sleeves, which feature a threaded end on one side, ensured accuracy and minimized mistakes during the grouting process,” said Mr. Janeboon Leepipatnavit, Project Director of Taveeporn Technology Co., Ltd., the project’s contractor.

Mr. Janeboon further stated that Dextra is a reliable company with its own facilities in Thailand, providing immediate support when required.

Zakhr City, Saudi Arabia

Zakhr City, Saudi Arabia

Zakhr City is one of the largest real estate projects in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This mixed-use development includes three- to four-star hotels, residential towers, markets, health centers, and police and fire stations. It is designed to accommodate more than 200,000 people.

Due to the site’s mountainous terrain, a bolting system was essential to secure the loose rock mass created after excavation. Dextra supplied nearly 3,000 fully threaded steel rock bolts to stabilize the site.

The rock bolts function by reinforcing the unstable rock strata before movement can cause failure. Dextra offers both steel and cuttable FRP rock bolts for face bolting and other tunneling or mining applications.

From the early stages of this project, Dextra has been actively involved, providing high-quality products and professional on-site support.

Katara Towers, Qatar

Katara Towers, Qatar

The iconic crossed-sword design tower

With a unique architectural design inspired by the crossed scimitar swords of Qatar’s seal, the Katara Towers are set to become Doha’s future hospitality landmark.

These 36-story twin arched towers will feature a luxurious five-star hotel, the country’s first six-star hotel, and private residences. A man-made beachfront satellite island will complement the project, offering luxury entertainment and recreational facilities.

For this iconic development, Dextra was entrusted with reinforcing the concrete structures using 300,000 Bartec rebar couplers. The couplers were installed in the foundations, columns, and core walls to efficiently connect Armatures bars of various diameters.

Bartec is a parallel-thread rebar coupler that connects two bars through a three-step process, including cold-forged bar-end enlargement before threading. This patented process ensures exceptional tensile strength and a bar-break performance.

The towers are expected to be completed in 2021, becoming a focal point for travelers during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

One Bangkok, Thailand

One Bangkok, Thailand

An integrated mixed-use district

One Bangkok is a new urban development in central Bangkok. This mixed-use project will include offices, retail space, luxury hotels, residences, and cultural and social spaces, with a gross floor area of 1.83 million sq. m. The highlight of the site will be a 430-metre signature tower.

Dextra was behind the connection of 2,200 tons of steel reinforcing mat foundation by supplying 500,000 units of Bartec standard couplers, transition couplers and headed bars.

Bartec standard and transition couplers were applied for various applications which require the joining of reinforcing bars, for example, column to column and beam to column connections.

Les coupleurs de transition permettaient de connecter deux barres d'armature de tailles différentes.

Barres à tête were used as an anchor bolt to connect columns to a reinforced concrete foundation. This solution drastically alleviates the congestion of rebars:

The Amaryllis – Luxury Apartments, India

The Amaryllis is a luxurious residential project featuring modern amenities in a prime area of New Delhi. Its strategic location near major city landmarks such as Connaught Place, India Gate, the airport, and Rashtrapati Bhawan makes it highly desirable for homebuyers.

Timely completion was a key priority for this iconic project. As a result, the client sought a reliable coupler supplier with experience in high-speed construction while maintaining product quality and on-time delivery.

Dextra, an ISO 9001:2015-certified company by Bureau Veritas, is a market leader in the coupler industry. With a track record of over 15,000 major construction and industrial projects worldwide, Dextra brings extensive global experience and expertise to the project.

Nearly 1 million Bartec couplers were supplied to the construction site to connect Fe500D, Fe550D, and Fe600 grade rebars.

Given the project’s stringent schedule and delivery requirements, it was crucial not only to procure and deliver the couplers within the specified timeline but also to ensure that the threading equipment could process an average of 4,000–6,000 ready threads per day.

Additionally, due to space constraints, the threading process had to be optimized to use the least amount of equipment while still meeting production targets. With three different towers connected by a long skywalk, there was constant pressure to ensure a steady supply of threaded rebars for all towers simultaneously.

Dextra also supplied Sonitec, a user-friendly and time-efficient tube solution, for crosshole sonic logging (CSL) testing of foundation piles.

To ensure seamless execution, Dextra India deployed an expert team of supervisors and operators to oversee rebar threading and coupler installation. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, all resources were aligned with the client’s specifications to prevent delays.

Dextra’s commitment to quality remains paramount. All testing requirements, formalities, and certifications were meticulously adhered to, while a well-equipped maintenance team implemented safeguards to prevent machine breakdowns.
