Melbourne Metro project: a showcase of Dextra solutions
The Metro Tunnel is a major enhancement to Melbourne’s rail network, a multibillion-dollar project comprising the design and construction of twin nine-kilometer tunnels and five underground stations.
The stations are designed based on the architectural character of the local area.
Dextra has been selected as a one-stop solution supplier, thanks to its wide range of products.
The numbers are impressive:
- 400,000 Griptec rebar couplers
- 5,300 GFRP Combination Bolts
- 900 GFRP soil nails

Dextra was able to support and share their expertise on GFRP at design stage and produce the GFRP solutions as per the owner expectation.
Tests de performance des coupleurs à températures élevées
L'Imperial College de Londres a testé les coupleurs Dextra Bartec/Fortec et Griptec à des températures élevées pour évaluer leur comportement en cas d'incendie.
Les points forts du test comprennent :
- Les résultats indiquent que les règles codifiées actuelles peuvent être utilisées pour évaluer les propriétés de résistance et de rigidité des barres d'armature non épissées et des barres d'armature connectées avec des coupleurs Bartec/Fortec ou Griptec.
- À des températures inférieures à 400°C, la résistance à la traction et la rigidité ultimes des épissures Bartec/Fortec et Griptec, ainsi que des barres d'armature non épissées, ne sont pas affectées de manière significative.
- Lors des tests de traction à des températures inférieures à 500°C, la rupture se produisait généralement dans les barres d'armature en dehors de la région du coupleur Bartec/Fortec ou Griptec.
