Elevating Sokhna Port Through Innovative Marine Infrastructure Solutions
Sokhna Port’s expansion project is reshaping global trade dynamics, with a 480-meter quay wall and 18-meter draft for Basin 2. This venture not only amplifies Egypt’s maritime prowess but also spotlights Dextra’s role in providing innovative marine infrastructure solutions.
Located on the Red Sea, Sokhna Port is a linchpin of international trade due to its proximity to the Suez Canal. Its extension in Basin 2 is a strategic move to cater to surging trade demands and optimize connectivity between Asia, Europe, and Africa.
The heart of the expansion lies in the impressive quay wall, boasting a 480-meter length and 18-meter draft. Dextra demonstrated its expertise by providing 265 tons of marine tie bars, grade 700, and ball cages, for the construction of the DP World terminal. These components enhance structural integrity and durability in the face of challenges posed by the marine environment.
