North Luzon Express Way

The North Luzon Expressway project (NLEx) is a large road project, partly elevated, taking place North of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The objective of the project is to provide a robust North-South road link on the Luzon Island. The total length of the project exceeds 80km.

For this project, Dextra supported contractor Leighton Philippinese with its popular
Bartec solution, popular rebar splicing method in South East Asia.

Bartec is very popular in Asia as it offers contractors a reliable way of connecting rebar. The unique sequence of the Bartec rebar preparation, which starts by cutting/enlarging the bar end, allow to uniformize the rebar before threading, making it reliable over time, evene between different lots of bars.

Between 2015 and 2017, Rebar couplers were used on the elevated segment of the orth Luzon Expressway project project, at the top of the bridge pylons. Couplers allowed the connection between the pylons and the head of the precast beams, which will ultimately support the road.

For this application alone, more than 78,000 rebar couplers were used, in diameters D28 & D36. Bartec range of diameters supported is one of the widest among the Dextra range, for more information, please refer to our Technical Datasheet available in the Download Section.

Bezons-Viadukt

Bezons-Viadukt

Bezons Viaduct is part of the extension to the suburban train line E (Eole) of the Regional Express Network, an hybrid transit system in Paris, France, serving the capital and its suburbs.

The viaduct connects the train line E to the existing network with a 96m-long bowstring-arch bridge that allows the lines to pass over the existing railway line on ground.

A proper concrete tensioning system was required to ensure the stability of the 2,000 tons structure: Dextra and its Tension Rods stepped in for that purpose.

The key success factor of this project, both in terms of design and customer care, was the strong collaboration between Dextra and its local partner Freyssinet.

Zuari-Brücke – beeindruckende Schrägseilbrücke und Zufahrtswege in Goa, Westindien

The Zuari bridge is a 640-meter long 8-lane cable-stayed bridge laying across the massive river Zuari in Goa. The project also includes 450-meter long elevated approaches with only 2 pillars, along with a 12-kilometer detour. The total value of the project is estimated at $227M.

This new bridge will solve the long commute problems across the two banks of the river. Additionally, with the wider span than the old one, this shall also take care of the growing vehicular traffic which its predecessor built some 30 years back.

With the new bridge, the Public Work Department (PWD) aims to improve road safety and ease traffic flow. Two towers and viewing galleries will also be added for tourism purposes. Being started in 2016, the project is planned to be finished in 2019.

Parallel-threaded rebar couplers for the bridge’s pile cages and pylons

For this massive project in Goa, Dextra has been supplying its popular parallel-threaded rebar splicing solutions Bartec for Fe 500 and Fe 600 Grade steel. More than 110K Bartec couplers are getting installed in Pile cages and Pile caps. This is one of the iconic bridge project, may be one of its kind, with Fe 600 grade steel to be a part of Pile caps and Fe 500 grade steel in piles up to 48 meter deep. Pylon is 103 meter in height and designed with Fe 600 grade steel as well.

Bartec is a full performance mechanical rebar couplers, with no reduction of cross-section area of the bar thanks to their parallel-threads. This characteristic makes the rebar connections a strong point of the structure, and can also simplify the project’s inventory: one type of coupler for both standard and position applications.

The bar-end preparation is also supported by 3 high-productivity machines which prepare each bar in sequence: cutting, cold forging and threading.

Dextra post-tensioning bars for precast elements and segment castings

In addition to Bartec couplers, for the bridge’s precast segments, the contractors also opted for Dextra post-tensioning bar systems. PT bars helps the project’s stakeholders carry out the erection of precast segments and the casting of the segments in time, and in a quality controlled manner.

More than 500 sets of pt bars were delivered to the project as of November 2018. Dextra has made supplies to Dilip Buildcon for Yard applications and Launching.

Also, for phase III of the project, Dextra has made supplies to NRS for PT bars and accessories.

Das indonesische Ministerium für öffentliche Arbeiten (MoPW) hat den Bau eines neuen Doppelbrückenprojekts zur Überquerung des Mahakam-Flusses in Samarinda in der Provinz Ost-Kalimantan in Auftrag gegeben. Das Mahakam IV-Projekt umfasst zwei separate Brücken: Die 1.388 m lange Schrägseilbrücke hat eine Spannweite von 220 m, eine Breite von 17 m und eine vertikale Durchfahrtshöhe von 22 m, während die 740 m lange Hauptbrücke eine Breite von 14 m und eine vertikale Durchfahrtshöhe von 25 m hat.

Dextra war bereits in der Anfangsphase des Projekts involviert und stellte BIM-Tools zur Verfügung, um das Zugtragsystem in den gesamten Tragwerksentwurf zu integrieren.

Am Ende des Prozesses wurden mehr als 60 Zugstäbe aus Kohlenstoffstahl unterschiedlicher Länge auf die Baustelle geliefert. Die Gabeln und Spannschlösser des Systems ermöglichen eine Längenanpassung an die Anforderungen vor Ort.

Das Zugstabsystem von Dextra ermöglicht eine optimale Aufnahme der Zuglasten der Struktur. Um allen technischen und ästhetischen Anforderungen eines Projekts gerecht zu werden, stehen verschiedene Festigkeitsklassen und Oberflächenveredelungen zur Verfügung.

Das Projekt wurde 2019 fertiggestellt und für den Verkehr freigegeben.

The National Highway 44 (NH 44) is the longest highway of India, spanning 3,745km from Srinagar to Kanyakumari.

As time moved forward, the cities close to the highway expanded at such a pace that the neighborhoods adjoining the highway mushroomed to very significant numbers.

As a result, the pedestrians and light vehicles along the two sides of the road often affect the flow and speed of long route heavy vehicles. It also poses a big risk for those local lighter vehicles and pedestrians.

To solve this problem, the Highway Authority of India proposed the road widening to be coupled with flyovers over the stretch wherein the highway is running through densely populated towns.

The 34-km long elevated stretch of highway in Nagpur-Hyderabad area is being constructed to improve the road network between Nagpur and the capital city of Hyderabad.

The authorities selected a segmental construction technology for the elevated bridges, and each heavy segment was casted in the quality-controlled environment of precast yards.

Considering the substantial size of these precast segments, it has been necessary to source easy-to-use lifting material, capable of sustaining high loads.

Dextra hot rolled fully threaded bars were the best fit to those requirements.

More than 100 sets of fully threaded (FT) post tensioning bars for lifting and launching of precast segments with launching girder have been supplied for this project, along with accessories such as end nuts and couplers.

Dextra FT Bar systems are frequently used for temporary applications such as heavy lifting and stitching of precast elements and anchoring of steel frame supports.

In the case of permanent applications, the FT Bars can be used for the connection of girders and piers in segmental bridge construction.

Temburong-Brücke

Die Temburong-Brücke, auch bekannt als Sultan-Haji-Omar-Ali-Saifuddien-Brücke, liegt in der Bucht von Brunei im Nordosten des Landes. Mit einer Länge von 30 Kilometern und vier Fahrspuren ist sie eine der längsten Seebrücken der Welt.

Die Brücke verbindet Sungai Besar und Mengkubau. Es ermöglicht Pendlern, zwischen den beiden Gebieten zu reisen, ohne Malaysia zu durchqueren, und umgeht so die vier Einwanderungskontrollpunkte auf der aktuellen Route, die häufig überlastet sind.

Dextra beteiligte sich an diesem Projekt durch die Lieferung von 34.000 Laufmetern Sonitec-Rohren für die Integritätsprüfung von Gründungspfählen mithilfe der CSL-Testmethode (Crosshole Sonic Logging).

Der Bau der Brücke begann im Jahr 2014 und wurde im Jahr 2020 offiziell für den Verkehr freigegeben.

Barapullah Elevated corridor is a major infrastructure project in India. The main purpose of this extension is to ease traffic congestion, as well as to provide a new express connectivity between Indira Gandhi International Airport and east Delhi.

Reinforcing the elevated road with PT bars

For the construction of this flyover, Dextra has been supplying its fully-threaded PT bars, as well as its well-known Bartec rebar splicing solution to the contractor L&T Construction.
The PT bar systems were applied in temporary applications of the construction project. Dextra fully-threaded post-tensioning bars are currently being used for lifting and launching the precast elements of the expressway’s elevated structures.

Das Projekt der Atlantikbrücke, auch Dritte Brücke über den Kanal genannt, wird in der Nähe des Atlantikeingangs des Panamakanals entwickelt. Dieses $600M-Projekt besteht aus dem Bau einer 1 Kilometer langen Schrägseilbrücke sowie Zugangsviadukten auf beiden Seiten und Verbindungen zu den bestehenden Straßen sowie Fuß- und Fahrradwegen. Wenn die Brücke archiviert ist, können Fahrzeuge den Panamakanal auch dann überqueren, wenn die Schleusen in Betrieb sind.

Eine der längsten Schrägseilbrücken aus Beton der Welt mit Bartec

Mit ihrer zentralen Spannweite von 530 Metern und einer Durchfahrtshöhe von 75 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel, die die Durchfahrt von Post-Panamax-Schiffen ermöglicht, ist die vierspurige Atlantikbrücke eine der längsten Schrägseilbrücken der Welt. Es wird außerdem von zwei deltaförmigen Hauptpylonen getragen, die eine Höhe von 212,5 Metern erreichen.
Dextra Lateinamerika, mit Hauptsitz in Panama City, war an der Lieferung beteiligt Bewehrungsverbindungslösung Bartec zur Verstärkung der Betonkonstruktion der Brücke.

Mehr als 350.000 Bartec-Kupplungen wurden an den Auftragnehmer VINCI Construction Grands Projets für die Verstärkung der Pfahlkäfige, Pfahlkappen und Pylone der Brücke für bis zu #14-Stäbe (Durchmesser 43 mm) geliefert. Darüber hinaus wurden drei Maschinensätze von Dextra Bartec eingesetzt, um die Bar-End-Vorbereitung vor Ort zu unterstützen.
Darüber hinaus wurden mehr als 50.000 Dextra-Endanker eingesetzt, um einen Stahlstau in den stark verstärkten Bereichen zu vermeiden Kopfstäbe werden in den Pfahlköpfen der Brücke verwendet.

Die Atlantikbrücke befindet sich derzeit in der letzten Bauphase und soll Anfang 2019 eröffnet werden.

Pumarejo Bridge is a 3,200m-long bridge including an 800m-long cable-stayed section and 1,300m of viaducts as well as access roads.

The new cable-stayed bridge is located over the Rio Magdalena river in Barranquilla and the Salamanca Island Road Park in Sitionuevo, Colombia.

It replaces the old Puente Pumarejo: with its two lanes, the old bridge was no longer doing justice to the increased traffic, and it quickly became an obstacle for shipping on the Rio Magdalena due to a clearance below of only 16 meters.

The new bridge comprises of 6 lanes of traffic (3 lanes each way), 2 side bike paths and a pedestrian path along its side.

Dextra provided rebar connection solutions that were designed to reinforce the concrete structures.

More than 120,000 Rolltec couplers were provided for pier and deck reinforcements.

In addition, over a thousand of Unitec bolted couplers were applied for the connection rebars without the need of threading.

Since its completion, it became the longest road bridge in the country and one of the largest in Latin America.

Phuoc Khanh Bridge, Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway

Phuoc Khanh bridge is a 4.7-kilometer cable-stayed bridge linking Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai. The bridge is part of the southern Vietnam’s longest highway, Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway, running through Long An province, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province.
When completed, the highway will connect the south-western region with the south-eastern region of the country, facilitating the transportation between the two parts of the country with improved traffic flow and larger lanes. The project aims to develop the socio-economic activities of this area.

Dextra-Vorspannstäbe für den dauerhaften Einsatz der Brücke

For the construction of the Phuoc Khanh Bridge, Dextra is supplying its post-tensioning bar systems as permanent post-tensioning anchors.
Over 250 high performance fully-threaded post-tensioning bars and over 200 smooth bar systems were delivered to site. Also known as PT bars, they are specifically designed for post-tensioned applications. They can be corrosion-protected as is the case for the equipment supplied in the project. The corrosion protection is done in a controlled facility in Dextra’s factory, before being shipped to site.
