Bakheng Water Treatment Plant
The Bakheng Water Treatment Plant is located in the Bakheng district of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The plant will be built to improve the water supply in this area and eventually give a 60 percent increase in drinking water delivery capacity due to substantial urban expansion.
A drinking water treatment plant and transfer pipelines are part of the project. The supply system will eventually provide drinking water to more than 1.5 million residents in Phnom Penh’s north-east.
By the end of Phase 1, the plant should be operational to provide drinking water to the more than 750,000 inhabitants of the area. By the end of Phase 2, its capacity will be doubled.
The project includes earthworks and soil treatment, civil engineering design of the structures, equipment installation, power supply to the equipment, and system automation.
Dextra supplied Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rebars which were installed in bored piles instead of reinforcement of traditional steel rebars to facilitate the TMB breakthrough in the underground waterway tunnel.
