Tanger Med 2 is the expansion of Tanger Med, a multipurpose deep-water seaport located a few kilometers east of Tangier, Morocco, facing Gibraltar.

The port expansion aims to increase the yearly capacity of the largest port in Africa by 5.2 million containers.

For this large infrastructure project, Dextra supported contractor Bouygues with a rebar splicing solution for the reinforcement of the caissons.

Dextra supplied its رولتيك solution, which is AFCAB-certified, a requirement for this project. Two Rolltec machines were installed to support the threading activities, completing 360,000 threads in total (180,000 Rolltec couplers).

The couplers were used in the reinforcement of the caissons, which were as tall as 20 to 24 meters. The couplers provided:

  • Temporary openings to solve congestion issues in the reinforcement within the caisson, creating safe passages for men and equipment during the installation phase.
  • Horizontal wall-to-slab connections (from the inside of the caisson perimeter to the slab). For this application, couplers were left pending, allowing the slip form to go up.

ميناء بوانت نوار المستقل (PAPN) هو ميناء بحري رئيسي يقع على المحيط الأطلسي، في جمهورية الكونغو. ويتصل بالعاصمة برازافيل عبر خط سكة حديد بطول 500 كيلومتر، ويلعب دورًا حيويًا في التنمية الإقليمية، إذ يُسهّل التجارة مع الدول المجاورة مثل جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية وأنغولا والغابون. ومع مرور أكثر من 600,000 حاوية سنويًا، يشهد الميناء نموًا مستمرًا في حركة الشحن.

لدعم خطط التطوير الطموحة لشركة PAPN، تعاونت شركة Dextra مع المقاول SAIPEM في هندسة وتوريد الهياكل الفولاذية للعديد من أرصفة Pointe-Noire التي يبلغ عمقها 16 مترًا.

بين عامي 2011 و2012، قامت شركة دكسترا بتوريد ما يقرب من 1000 طن من قضبان التعادل البحرية الدرجة 700، وهي الأعلى في مجموعتنا. تتميز هذه الدرجات الأعلى بنسب أداء إلى فولاذ أفضل، مما يسمح بقضبان ذات قطر أصغر، مما يوفر في تكاليف اللوجستيات والتركيب.

The MultiRio Container Terminal, located in the Rio de Janeiro Port, specializes in the import/export of finished goods. To increase its shipping capacity by at least 50%, MultiRio launched an expansion project in 2012 to add extra quay length and accommodate more containers.

To support this pier expansion, Dextra partnered with contractor Andrade Gutierrez for the engineering and supply of Marine Tie Bars.

In 2014, Dextra supplied 100 tons of steel rods in medium diameters M56 and M59. The rods were anchored to the wall using swivel plates and nuts, allowing for 5° multidirectional adjustment.

These plates were positioned onto the waler beams, which were also supplied by Dextra. Waler beams are installed onto the sheet piles, and their design is directly influenced by the chosen Marine Tie Bars solution. For example, the spacing of the beams is impacted by the diameter of the bars and the angle of the rods.

Between the wall, Hinge couplers were installed in line to allow for additional vertical tolerance. This was necessary to counteract ground settlement, which can occur over time due to the heavy cranes operating and the piles of stored containers. The Hinge couplers provided the flexibility needed to accommodate any vertical movement and ensure the stability of the structure.

Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) is a multipurpose berth located at Paradip Port on India’s eastern coast, designed to handle clean cargo. The berth has a depth of 17.1 meters and a length of 450 meters, allowing it to accommodate cape-sized vessels up to 125,000 DWT. It will handle a range of cargoes including containerized goods, iron and steel products, fertilizer, food grains, and sugar.

Dextra supplied approximately 370 tons of أنظمة قضبان الربط البحرية, sizes M105 and M76, Grade 500, along with accessories like couplers, turnbuckles, swivel plates, and swivel nuts. These tie bar systems were used to secure the concrete diaphragm walls at both ends of the berth, ensuring the structural integrity of the terminal.

With the new berth becoming operational in 2018, Paradip Port now boasts a total of 18 berths, including 13 cargo berths, 2 oil tanker berths, and 3 crude oil tanker berths with a single-point mooring system for handling crude oil tankers. This expansion significantly enhances the port’s capacity to handle a wide range of cargo and oil shipments.

Mugharraq Port, located 240 kilometers from Abu Dhabi, UAE, is undergoing a significant marine development project. The expansion includes extending the quay wall to 480 meters, deepening the facility to 8 meters, and adding six Ro-Ro ramps and additional berths to facilitate heavy lift operations.

Dextra supplied 407 tons of marine tie bars (size M103, grade 700) to connect the sea walls to the anchor walls.

This project aims to enhance the port’s infrastructure and service capabilities, better supporting offshore and mega projects in the oil and gas industry.

Altamira Port, located on the Gulf of Mexico in Tamaulipas, Mexico, is a key hub connecting with 125 ports worldwide. It handles a wide range of cargo, including liquid and dry bulk, petrochemicals, LNG, containers, and general cargo, serving an important industrial and economic region.

As part of its expansion to strengthen Mexico’s position as a global logistics platform, Dextra supplied 174 tons of grade 700 marine tie bars to anchor the sea walls during the project.

The Port of Sète, located on the Mediterranean Sea, is the largest fishing port in southern France and also serves numerous ferry routes to North Africa, including Tangiers. As part of its efforts to increase container capacity, the port is adding a new quay (Quay H), 15 meters deep, to improve both handling and storage of containers.

To support contractor Soletanche-Bachy in the construction of this new quay, Dextra engineered and supplied 74 large شريط التعادل البحرية assemblies, the largest in our range at M160. These large-diameter assemblies reduce the number of sets required by increasing spacing between each rod.

The tie rods were anchored into the D-Wall using ball cages, which allow a 10° rotational angle in all directions. After excavation, the ball cages were opened to enable reconnection of the threaded ends of the rods.

يُعدّ مشروع "غراند باريس إكسبريس" مشروعًا ضخمًا للنقل الحضري يُنفّذ في جميع أنحاء العاصمة الفرنسية. سيضيف المشروع أربعة خطوط جديدة (الخطوط ١٥، ١٦، ١٧، و١٨) ويوسّع خطين قائمين (١١ و١٤).

شاركت ديكسترا في العديد من حزم المحطات من خلال شركائها من الموزعين المحليين. وعلى الخط رقم 14 تحديدًا، زودت ديكسترا وصلات حديد التسليح من شركة فورتيك في محطتي أورساي وبونت كاردينيه.

The New Bay Bridge was a large civil engineering project undertaken between 2002 and 2013. The aim of the project was to replace two segments of the Bay Bridge that were vulnerable to earthquakes with a new structure designed to withstand seismic forces.

For this project, Dextra was involved in two segments of the renovation: the approach to the Bay Bridge on the San Francisco side and the eastern segment from Yerba Buena Island to Oakland.

Dextra supplied its بارتيك® Headed Bar systems for this project. Headed Bars feature an anchor disc mounted on the end of a rebar previously prepared for the Bartec® system.

استخدام قضبان الرأس provides a smart and compact alternative to long rebar hooks in areas where reinforcement is particularly congested. Unlike hook bars, Headed Bars are easy to install, as end anchors can simply be screwed onto the reinforcement at a later stage, after the reinforcement is in place.

For the approach to the Bay Bridge in San Francisco and the eastern segment of Yerba Buena Island, Bartec® Headed Bars were used for shear reinforcement in the column foundations as well as in the bridge hinges.

The Bartec® Headed Bars solution is approved by Caltrans (the California Department of Transportation) for all imperial bar sizes #3 to #18 and is also certified by the ICC-ES.

The Nhat Tan Bridge is an impressive cable-stayed bridge spanning the Red River, located north of Hanoi. The total length of the project is 8.9 km, including the 3.75 km main bridge.

The bridge serves as a new gateway to Hanoi, significantly reducing travel time to Noi Bai International Airport, the second busiest airport in Vietnam by passenger volume.

The bridge was inaugurated by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam and opened to the public on January 4, 2015. It has since been renamed the “Vietnam – Japan Friendship Bridge.”

Dextra has been involved in the Nhat Tan Bridge since the early stages of the project, supplying the widely used بارتيك® rebar couplers, the leading rebar splicing solution in Vietnam. Bartec® connections were used in various parts of the project, including approaches, foundation piles, pile caps, and bridge segments.

Bartec® couplers offer a versatile rebar splicing solution, as the same standard coupler can be used for both standard connections (where the rebar rotates into the coupler) and position connections (where only the coupler rotates, useful when rebar rotation is not possible). Dextra supplied more than 130,000 connections in total for this project, enabling the lifting of heavy elements.

For the temporary operations of lifting and securing the precast girder segments, Dextra also supplied 36 tons of high-tensile PT bars.
