Altamira Port – Multiple Use Terminal Expansion
Altamira Port is located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Altamira Tamaulipas and connects with 125 ports across the world. The port services an important area of economic and industrial activity in the country. It handles liquid and dry bulk, petrochemicals, LNG, container, and general cargo.
The expansion of the multiple use terminal of the Altamira Port is part of the plan to make Mexico a global logistics platform. Dextra marine tie bars were chosen to anchor sea walls during the expansion. 174 tons of tie bars in grade 700 were supplied.
Moreover, Sonitec, a sonic tube solution, was used for the CSL (crosshole sonic logging) testing of foundation piles of the quay. It facilitates the structural integrity and homogeneity of concrete within the piles by measuring the speed of ultrasonic pulses.
