Altamira Port – Multiple Use Terminal Expansion
Altamira Port, located on the Gulf of Mexico in Tamaulipas, Mexico, is a key hub connecting with 125 ports worldwide. It handles a wide range of cargo, including liquid and dry bulk, petrochemicals, LNG, containers, and general cargo, serving an important industrial and economic region.
As part of its expansion to strengthen Mexico’s position as a global logistics platform, Dextra supplied 174 tons of grade 700 marine tie bars to anchor the sea walls during the project.
Additionally, Sonitec, a sonic tube solution, was used for CSL (crosshole sonic logging) testing of foundation piles in the quay. This technique ensures the structural integrity and homogeneity of concrete in the piles by measuring the speed of ultrasonic pulses.
